Penn Group for Islington Veterans
2020 has not been the kindest of years, yet we have tried hard to honour our pledge to our chosen charities of the year.
To give the year an ending to be proud of, we are supporting Islington Veterans as our last charity project of the year. Our goal is to raise £1250.00 and we kindly ask for your help. Help us help them!
If you can spare as little as £5.00 we can ensure you it would go directly to the charity, 100% to help the veterans and their families and it will make a difference, a big one for someone right before Christmas.
Established in 2008, Islington Veterans Association, Freemen of the Borough of Islington, is a community organisation that promotes camaraderie and seeks to provide help for veterans and ex-servicemen across Islington area.
They do a vital job for veterans and their families, and 2020 has been a challenge for too many.
The Veterans' Association is instrumental in organising the annual Remembrance Day Acts of Remembrance and Parades in Islington, Armed Forces Day and associated events and other occasional commemorations which happen in the Borough and is closely involved with the Borough on issues affecting the welfare of all veterans.
The Association also maintains a strong social calendar with monthly meetings of the Association in Islington Town Hall, The Association organise trips around the country (which have included visits to such places as the National Memorial Arboretum and the Air Force Museum at Hendon), dinners and other social events, and takes part in various Borough events promoting the Association.
